Plot
Taking as a reference the recent miniseries written by Tom King, this film proposes a radical reinterpretation of the Supergirl myth, moving away from the bright and accessible image traditionally associated with the character. In contrast to Superman—sent to Earth as a mere baby and raised by loving parents who offered him a home, values, and a sense of belonging—Kara Zor-El arrives on our planet marked by loss, violence, and the guilt of having survived. Raised for fourteen years on a shard of Krypton drifting in space, Supergirl witnessed the slow and brutal death of everyone she loved, unable to save them while her world extinguished before her eyes.
When she finally reaches Earth, Kara finds neither comfort nor immediate redemption, but a planet that no longer needs the one she was destined to protect. Transformed into a wandering figure, hardened by trauma and anger, Supergirl embarks on a journey that confronts her with both external threats and her own past, questioning the meaning of justice, revenge, and heroism. Closer to a cosmic western than a classic superhero adventure, the film explores pain as an open wound and identity as something built from loss.
This is not the Supergirl we know, but a warrior marked by experience, fiercer, more solitary, and deeply human, whose story redefines what it means to be a symbol of hope when all you have known is destruction.

Trivia
Sasha Calle
Sasha Calle had talks with DC Studios and Warner Bros. about reprising her role from Flash (2023), before the creative change. Calle has admitted it was frustrating, since she had originally shot an ending of "The Flash" that was supposed to pave the way for future adventures as part of a multi-film contract.
Woman of Tomorrow
Originally titled "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow," after the comic book of the same name, written by Tom King and drawn by Bilquis Evely, which served as the basis for this film. The story updated Kara's character as a 21-year-old young woman adventuring in the depths of space.
Milly Alcock
Milly Alcock was a finalist for the title role along with Meg Donnelly, who voiced Kara Zor-El/Supergirl on Legión de superhéroes (2023) and Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part One (2024).
