The Bikeriders

'The Bikeriders' is a drama directed by Jeff Nichols and starring Austin Butler, Jodie Comer and Tom Hardy. Disney had scheduled its release for December 1, 2023 in collaboration with 20th Century Studios, but New Regency, its production company, made the decision to eliminate it during the SAG-AFTRA strike. With a budget of $40 million, 'The Bikeriders' debuted at the Telluride Film Festival and aspired to participate in the 2024 Oscars but will finally be released in July by Universal Pictures.

The film tells the fictional story of a motorcycle club in the Midwest during the 1960s. A Variety review highlights the performances of Butler, known for giving life to Elvis Presley in 'Elvis', and Hardy, also known as 'Venom', praising their performances and the humanization of a world often misrepresented in cinema.

This fictional story is inspired by Danny Lyon's 1967 photobook of the same name. Nichols wrote the script from his original idea and began putting together the project in 2022, also featuring Michael Shannon, Mike Faist and Norman Reedus in the cast.

In it, we will see how Kathy (Jodie Comer), a tenacious member of the Vandals who is married to a wild and reckless biker named Benny (Butler), recounts the evolution of the group over a decade . It all started in a local club of out-of-towners united by good times, loud motorcycles and respect for their strong, steadfast leader Johnny (Hardy).
