About the Now You See Me saga
Louis Leterrier's 'Now You See Me' (2013) blended the heist film with the magic show: four illusionists, the Four Horsemen, rob a bank during one of their Las Vegas shows and shower the money on the audience, while the FBI tries to work out how they did it. They were played by Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher and Dave Franco, alongside Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine.
'Now You See Me' was a surprise hit and 'Now You See Me 2' (2016), directed by Jon M. Chu, added Daniel Radcliffe as the villain and Lizzy Caplan as a new Horseman, in an adventure that took the group to Macau.
Nine years later came 'Now You See Me: Now You Don't' (2025), directed by Ruben Fleischer, with the original Four Horsemen back and a new generation of magicians, among them Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa and Ariana Greenblatt, and Rosamund Pike in the cast. The series runs to three films.
