Chicuarotes

Chicuarotes tells the story of 'el Cagalera' and 'el Moloteco', two young boys desperate to leave their hometown in search of a life better away from poverty in which they have always been mired. When a friend tells them about the possibility of buying places in the electricians' union, they both begin to figure out how to get the money to go along with Sughelli, the girlfriend of one of them. However, little by little things will start to squirm in the most unpredictable ways and they will end up exploring dangerous places completely away from the law. 'Chicuarotes' is basically a youth adventure of overcoming and ambition to achieve a more comfortable situation, which will suddenly lead to an unstoppable tornado to sink into the most rugged recesses of the criminal world. And, in short, how far would you be willing to go to change your life? What would you do in order to reach a better and richer status?

The film, based in one of the most traditional genres of Mexico such as crime and drama, is directed by Mexican actor and director Gael García Bernal, and has been written by screenwriter Augusto Mendoza. The cast includes Dolores Heredia, Ricardo Abarca, Daniel Giménez Cacho, Gabriel Carbajal and Benny Emmanuel among many others.
