Speak Sunlight

A couple decides to travel back to their origins after 30 years accompanied by the child they care for in order to face the past and learn to live in the present. The couple formed by Maruja and Manolo, her husband, had to escape from Spain after the civil war. Since then, they have lived in Paris, but they have never been able to leave behind the past and the reasons for which they decide to go into exile.

The marriage works for an American ambassador and his entire family as a service. Mrs. Jolis and her husband are overwhelmed by all the social gatherings they have to organize, which is why Alan, her son, has practically been raised by Maruja and Manolo. This same year, Maruja finds out that this could be her last summer, something that will push her to face her past and return to her origins with a trip to Spain, where she will have to make an effort for Alan so he grows as a a good man. With this trip, Manolo will also be challenged by his marriage and the secrets that were buried long ago.

Film starring Carmen Machi and Karra Elejalde, who already coincided in 'Ocho apellidos vascos'. In the direction, we find Carol Polakoff, with a script based on the novel by Alan Jolis, adapted by Natxo López, John Milarky and Polakoff herself.
