About the Unbreakable saga
The 'Unbreakable' trilogy is M. Night Shyamalan's superhero saga, told his way, with ordinary characters and plenty of suspense. It began with 'Unbreakable' (2000), in which David Dunn (Bruce Willis), the only survivor of a terrible train crash, realises he has never been ill or hurt, guided by Elijah Price (Samuel L. Jackson), a comic collector with bones as fragile as glass.
Sixteen years later, 'Split' (2016) looked like a standalone film: a thriller about Kevin (James McAvoy), a man with 23 personalities who kidnaps three girls, one of them played by Anya Taylor-Joy. Its final scene, with the appearance of David Dunn, revealed that it was set in the same universe as 'Unbreakable'.
'Glass' (2019) brought the three characters together in a psychiatric hospital and closed the trilogy, with Willis, Jackson and McAvoy back in their roles. Shyamalan financed 'Glass' with his own money.
