If you've been lucky enough to view Marvel's latest film 'Black Panther' then you'll know that the film isn't just widely acclaimed for its storyline and revolutionary nature (in having a predominantly black cast), but also for the calibre of the acting. We managed to sit down with some of the main cast in a series of interviews (3 of which you can find here), shortly before the European premiere, so we had a inkling of what we were about to see in the film, but nothing could compare to seeing 'Black Panther' for ourselves.

Below you can find the actors behind main characters from the film, and where you might have seen them before.

The main cast

Chadwick Boseman

The actor has been in and out of TV roles, but his most notable rise to fame has been through histexto enlace portrayal of T'Challa. The character first burst onto our screens in MCU's 'Captain America: Civil War' back in 2016. 'Black Panther' marked Boseman's second appearance as the King of Wakanda, and as promised during the credits of Marvel's latest film, T'Challa is set to reappear in this year's 'Avengers: Infinity War'. The actor is also rumoured to appear in a second installment of the latter film.

 Boseman

Michael B. Jordan

Jordan has worked alongside 'Black Panther' director, Ryan Coogler on a number of projects now. Beginning in 2013 with 'Fruitvale Station', and continuing with 'Creed' and the upcoming 'Creed II'. Despite joining the MCU as Erik Killmonger in 'Black Panther', the actor previously played Johnny Storm in Marvel's 'Fantastic Four'.

Lupita Nyong'o

The actress first made a name for herself in breakout film '12 Years a Slave' back in 2013. Following that role, Nyong'o went on to play Max Kanata in 2015's 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens', and reprised that role in last year's 'The Last Jedi'. In 2016, Nyong'o leant her voice to 'The Jungle Book''s Raksha (the female wolf that raises Mowgli). Her portrayal of Nakia in 'Black Panther' is her latest cinematic appearance.

 Nyong'o

Danai Gurira

Since her first appearance in season 2 of 'The Walking Dead' back in 2012, Danai Gurira is probably most well-known for her role as Michonne. However, the actress has also played some quite unique roles over the years, including that of Afeni Shakur, mother to acclaimed rapper, Tupac, in the 2017 story of his life 'All Eyez on Me'. Gurira's character, Okoye, will return to the MCU in 'Avengers: Infinity War'.

Martin Freeman

Freeman has a most decorated acting career, with appearances in various TV and cinematic productions. The actor's role as Bilbo Baggins in 'The Hobbit' trilogy is probably his most renowned, although UK audiences will recognise Freeman for his portrayal of Watson in TV series 'Sherlock'. Freeman's 'Black Panther' character, CIA agent Everett K. Ross, made his first MCU appearance in 'Captain America: Civil War'. The actor is set to return to the big screen this year in UK produced horror film, 'Ghost Stories'.

 Freeman

Daniel Kaluuya

Despite various television roles throughout the years, Daniel Kaluuya's acting career sky-rocketed with last year's 'Get Out', and continues on a high with 'Black Panther'. Both are incredibly iconic films for people of colour. Kaluuya's other film roles include that of Reggie in 2015's 'Sicario' and Agent Tucker, English's side-kick in 'Johnny English Returns'.

Letitia Wright

Letitia Wright has been in many British TV productions, including that of 'Doctor Who' and 'Holby City'. Wright has also recently appeared in Netflix drama 'Black Mirror'. In terms of film, Wright's 'Black Panther' character will return in 'Avengers: Infinity War', and the actress has a role in upcoming 'Ready Player One'.

 Wright

Winston Duke

The actor, who played M'Baku in 'Black Panther' will return to our screens this year in 'Avengers: Infinity War'. Before his appearance in the latest Marvel production, Duke has had various roles in TV series, such as 'Modern Family' and 'Person of Interest'.

Sterling K. Brown

Brown's TV career is very varied with roles in shows like 'Supernatural', 'Person of Interest', 'Army Wives','American Crime Story' and 'This is Us'. The actor portrayed T'Challa's uncle, N'Jobu in 'Black Panther'.

 Brown

Angela Bassett

As well as her roles in 'ER' and 'American Horror Story', Angela Basset has appeared in productions like rom-com 'This Means War' and voiced Mildred in Disney animation, 'Meet the Robinsons'. Bassett will reprise her 'Black Panther' role as Ramonda, T'Challa's mother, in 'Avengers: Infinity War'. The actress is also billed to appear in the next 'Mission: Impossible' instalment, 'Fallout'.

Forest Whitaker

Whitaker, most famous for his multi-award winning performance in 2007 production, 'The Last King of Scotland', plays royal advisor, Zuri, in 'Black Panther'. The actor appeared in 'Criminal Minds' throughout 2011, before joining the 'Star Wars' saga as Saw Gerrera in 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' in 2016. Whitaker's other roles include that of Burnham in 'Panic Room'.

 Whitaker

Andy Serkis

Unlike the others, Andy Serkis is just as well known for his acting within a motion capture suit as he is in the flesh. Some of Serkis' most prominent roles include Gollum in the 'Lord of the Rings' and 'The Hobbit' franchises, as well as that of Supreme Leader Snoke in 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' and 'The Last Jedi'. Serkis also played Caesar, the ape upon which the latest 'The Planet of the Apes' saga is based, and Kong in the 2005 version of 'King Kong'. In the flesh, Serkis has portrayed Capricorn in 'Inkheart' and leant his voice to Spike in 'Flushed Away'. Ulysses Klaue, Serkis' 'Black Panther' character was first introduced in 'Captain America: Civil War'.
